Hiddle Hut, luxury star gazing cabin

Nestled in the heart of the Northumberland countryside you’ll find the most amazing luxury bespoke two-storey Hiddle Hut, the word ‘Hiddle’ meaning to nestle closely and a hiding spot. Best believe once you’ve visited this exquisite location you’ll want to hide here forever! I was super lucky to be invited to stay here as it had been on my wish list since I first discovered it!

(For disclosure I was gifted a night’s stay here)

Truly one of the best stays I’ve ever had, Catherine and James who designed and own Hiddle Hut have put so much thought into every detail to provide a true sanctuary, a cosy retreat with luxurious touches. The roll-top bath overlooking the countryside views is just breathtaking, something I’d seen on their social media pages before I went and I couldn’t wait to immerse into a bubble bath of dreams with a glass of wine and a view to die for, a real wow factor to this hut!

The hut has a cosy snug area upon entering with a log burner and tv, blankets and cushions to enjoy a relax or browse the well stocked bookcase of local authors and Northumberland information. Star gazing guides, binoculars for bird watching or star gazing …. Theres truly so much detail every where you look.

Made from reclaimed wood the hut has a strong ethical ethos, repurposing furniture and materials – you’ll find an old church pew from the local church as you enter as seating! Its touches like these that make it special learning the history behind the objects you can find as you walk around the hurt.

A fully equipped kitchen with Smeg fridge, coffee machine (with local coffee to use), dishwasher, oven and hob means if you wish to cook up a storm you have everything you need. Personally I would be ordering one of their amazing grazing boards or breakfast hampers to go alongside the generous welcome hamper provided.

Set in Northumberland’s dark sky territory, star gazing is a must here! The king sized bed has a glass roof so you can lie in comfort under the stars. Or out on the decking or by the fire pit toasting marshmallows and seeing the constellations and planets.. I mean talk about dreamy!

Adjoining the hut is a small woodland copse, to take a wander through the winding path and sit on the bench with a cuppa enjoying the views and sunrises and sunsets. I caught a gorgeous sunrise when I stayed here, Id made a point of keeping the curtains overlooking the adjacent fields open so I woke to stunning orange glows.

Hiddle Hut is within walking distance of attractions such as Hadrians wall and other historical landmarks as well as near the gorgeous villages of Corbridge and Hexham. An adults only retreat, no pets due to the farmland and livestock here.

Everything has been thought of here with the most thoughtful owners I cant recommend Hiddle Hut enough to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxury getaway in stunning surroundings.
