Hithe, Amble

An amazing new brunch and coffee shop opened in Amble recently, Hithe located on Queen Street. With a menu to die for and a chilled rustic aesthetic, I was met with a super friendly welcome and couldn’t wait to try their delicious menu of brunch and light lunch items.

We opted for the Turkish eggs and Potato and Chorizo Hash with a side of hash browns and waffle fries.  Absolutely delicious the Turkish Eggs with sourdough topped with garlic and dill yogurt, poached eggs and Aleppo pepper oil and dill were my absolute favourite. I’d highly recommend them, the hash browns especially were amazing almost a rosti/hash brown hybrid just sublime! The cafe uses local supplier Bari Tea which you can also buy from the cafe. and their coffee is gorgeous too.

I can’t wait to try more from the menu such as brioche french toast with roasted peaches, flaked almonds and mascarpone cream and the shakshuka eggs. Hithe brings a fresh new brunch destination to Amble, their name literally meaning ‘small port’ mirroring their location in what has been nicknamed ‘the friendliest port’.

With gorgeous items such as steak and eggs, berry waffles, granola bowls and the full Hithe breakfast theres something for everyone here and is a great addition to the area.

There are specials every week to try too but be quick as this place is so popular you don’t want to miss them! Hithe has recently started its own running club too on a Wednesday at 9.30am you can do a 5km run with one of the staff and finish off with an amazing brunch and coffee! what a fab idea.

Open 9-4 everyday and dog friendly too which is a bonus, you’ll find Hithe right at the end of Queen Street before you hit the harbour area making it a perfect stop before those pier walks and a wander around the Harbour Village.
