Tiger Flights, Eshott Airfield

At Eshott Airfield you’ll find Tiger Flights, with their fleet of de Hallivand Tiger Moth vintage aircraft the open-air flying experience that is truly a one of a kind experience! A new addition to the airfield, I was kindly invited up last summer for a fly in their G-EMSY Tiger Moth vintage aircraft which was first built in 1940!

(flight experience was gifted)

Taking to the Northumberland skies and flying along the coastline passing castles and all the beauty our region has to offer in the Tiger Moth was unreal. With this aircraft the passenger sits in the front seat, so you have a birds eye view of the sights unfolding before you.

The team have since added two more additions to their Tiger Moth family both from the 1940’s making an impressive fleet of vintage aircraft to which you can take to their skies with. Formation flights are also available can you imagine flying side by side with a friend like this!

As you can see above the views are spectacular from the open air cockpit, feeling the wind and coasting along the Northumberland coastline and countryside I saw sights such as Warkworth Castle, Alnmouth, Alnwick Castle…

The aircraft have such an interesting history all with RAF connections and the team have their full life stories from flying in wars to working their way into private owners and finally landing at Tiger Flights, there are some fascinating photos and tales from their time a lot of which you can see on their website and social media pages but the team themselves tell the journey of each aircraft and you can tell how proud they are of them.

You can find more information and booking details on their website here Tiger Flights or call into Eshott Airfield for a chat with the staff.
